Skulduggery Pleasant by Derek Landy

One of the most inspiring aspects of Irish writing in the Noughties was the
seemingly endless flow of new talent and the eureka factor which accompanied each new discovery.  In 2007 Harper Collins bought Derek Landy’s Skulduggery Pleasant series,
since when he’s gone on to become a major superstar in the firmament of children’s literature.
