Vicky Phelan with Naomi Linehan
Vicky Phelan is mother to Amelia and Darragh, married to Jim and living in Limerick, Ireland. She is a lifelong learner and has always worked in the education field. She credits her education with giving her the tools to take on her greatest challenge – fighting for her life. She is a founding member of the 221+ CervicalCheck Patient Support Group and a powerful advocate for those affected. Overcoming is her first book.
Naomi Linehan is an author, journalist and documentary-maker. She was born in Dublin and grew up in Zambia. Overcoming is her second book. Her first book, Nowhere’s Child, was published by Hachette in 2015. It soon became a number one bestseller and has since been published internationally and has been translated into three different languages. Naomi worked for many years in radio in flagship current affairs and features programmes on Newstalk. She has also written for The Irish Times and has worked in the areas of international development and social entrepreneurship. She is currently producing a television documentary series soon to be aired on RTÉ.
