Sean McGoldrick

Sean McGoldrick, from Newtownmanor, Co. Leitrim, has worked as a journalist for more than forty years. He co-authored Shooting from the Hip, the autobiography of Kerry GAA legend Pat Spillane and I Remember it Well, the autobiography of the late broadcaster Jimmy Magee. In 2015 he wrote Punching Above their Weight: The Irish Olympic Boxing Story, which was shortlisted for the Bord Gáis Energy Irish Sports Book of the Year award. His personal marathon journey began in 1982 when he ran in the Dublin Marathon and he has since participated in more than thirty marathons and ultra-marathons.
